Fast Twitch Fiction
A black and evil little flash magazine — now open, $150 in prizes.
Fast Twitch Fiction is a new blackling on the block. It’s a flash-fiction magazine for corpse-fed, blood-spilling horror fiction.
So-called necrofiction.
Necrofiction is simply horror flash fiction.
Hereby I coin it.
It’s body, it’s cosmic, it’s grotesque, it’s folk. It’s whatever you want that pushes the boundaries of divine, diseased or cursed or wicked stuff that floats your dead boat.
Published quarterly. That's how often the slab o’ meat goes out for a walk.
The hope and the promise of the magazine is that it expands into galaxies, black branes, and into the very consciousness of God. (And oh, how he’ll scorn us.)
The prizes, awards and print
The magazine will be both printed and available as an ebook.
The first issue will feature up to 20 pieces, plus interviews with three top-winning authors.
There will also be a podcast with the winners.
There will be an awards scheme, too.
Awards will be for the top three pieces of every issue:
The winner takes $100, and the runners-up get $25 each.
And now onto the nitty-gritty and filthy stuff: the rules.
The rules and submission guidelines
And every piece is flash. It must be read in a single muscle twitch, a single spasm. The single contraction of a muscle before your brain has caught up.
So far as there are any rules for submitting to the magazine, there are few:
